How will Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band sound without the Big Man, Clarence Clemons, on sax? How will Bruce's "angry" new album, Wrecking Ball -- described by the Hollywood Reporter as featuring "unexpected textures — loops, electronic percussion … an amazing sweep of influences and rhythms, from hip-hop to Irish folk rhythms" — fit into Springsteen's legendary canon?

These questions and more will be answered in a matter of weeks, when the Boss and the E Streeters return to Tampa.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band announced a round of American tour dates this morning, including a gig at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on March 23. It'll be their third U.S. tour date this spring, following gigs in Atlanta and Greensboro, N.C., and it is his only date in Florida. Ticket prices were not immediately announced, but Springsteen's website says they'll go on sale Saturday.

The gig precedes Bruce's keynote address appearance at South By Southwest 2012 and a full European tour, as well as a just-announced gig at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on April 29. Wrecking Ball is due March 6.
