If it always seems that the same names pop up each year for the Country Music Association Awards hoedown, maybe that's simply because Nashville, for better or worse, loves consistency. So look for a lot of familiar hats and hairdos at 8 tonight when Brad Paisley (he's funny) and Carrie Underwood (she makes us feel funny) co-host the 42nd Annual CMA Awards on ABC. Here are some categories to keep an eye on:
Entertainer of the Year: Jimmy Buffett wannabe Kenny Chesney, right, is the reigning champ here, but look for "King" George Strait and cut-up Paisley to make things interesting.
Female Vocalist of the Year: Taylor Swift and Underwood represent the good girls on Music Row. But that crazy ex-girlfriend Miranda Lambert, right, will be tough to beat.
New Artist of the Year: Either Jason Aldean or Lady Antebellum would be solid picks. But the smart money is on dumb bunny Kellie Pickler, right, the former American Idol minx.
Major Market Station of the Year: Finally, a category that's no surprise -- Tampa Bay's WQYK-FM has already been named the winner here. (Huzzah!) The station's afternoon drive-time team of Randy Price and Dave McKay also were named Major Market Broadcast Personalities of the Year.
