Guest performers Randi Olsen and Jason Yungmann, who were featured in last season's "Tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber," return to do favorites from the silver screen.
Among the songs are two Judy Garland classics, Somewhere Over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz and The Trolley Song from Meet Me in St. Louis , plus the Gene Kelly favorite Singin' in the Rain and the all-star That's Entertainment .
In addition, the singers and orchestra will do songs from the Disney hits Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin . A concert highlight will be Ms. Olsen and Yungmann singing excerpts from Webber's The Phantom of the Opera .
Both singers have played in productions at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre, Stage West Community Playhouse and Richey Suncoast Theatre, as well as other venues. Ms. Olsen played lead or key roles in Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, Camelot and South Pacific . Yungmann has held lead or key roles in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Damn Yankees, Hello, Dolly, The Fantasticks, Camelot and South Pacific .
The 50-piece orchestra, led by conductors Derek Weston and Robert Boyd, will also play hits from the movies Titanic, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Trek and Mission: Impossible . The program also has a medley from the works of John Williams, who wrote sound tracks for several major motion pictures (Jaws, Schindler's List and three Harry Potter films, among others) and has won five Academy Awards and 21 Grammys.
The final RCO concert will be the Mother's Day dinner concert at Spartan Manor on May 8. The concert features Busch Gardens performer John Wilson (not the television personality). Tickets for dinner and the show are $30 and must be purchased in advance.
