Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Psy headline Jingle Ball in Tampa

For true Beliebers, Christmas is coming early.

Justin Bieber will headline the fourth annual 93.3-FLZ Jingle Ball on Dec. 9 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, the radio station announced Friday. The boy wonder will be joined by fellow pop stars Ke$ha, Sean Kingston and OneRepublic, as well as Korean pop sensation Psy, the singer behind the viral video smash Gangnam Style.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Monday, but if you just can't wait — Bieber fans can be, shall we say, an excitable bunch — some presale tickets are available on the station's website through midnight Sunday.

Bieber is far and away the biggest name Tampa's Jingle Ball has lured in four years. His show at Orlando's Amway Center in January has long been sold out, so a surprise performance in Tampa should be a treat for fans.

"When we started the Jingle Ball, we had a five-year plan: to get where we are in four years," said 93.3-FLZ program director Tommy Chuck. "We want it to be the premier concert in Tampa Bay every single year."

More and more Clear Channel stations have adopted the Jingle Ball's year-end, Top 40-time capsule format pioneered by KIIS-FM in Los Angeles in 2000. Between Dec. 1 and 12 of this year, there's a Jingle Ball happening somewhere in America almost every night, in cities like New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.

The competition for top acts is fierce. Tampa's station missed out on acts like One Direction, Taylor Swift and the Wanted due in part to schedule conflicts with other year-end festivals. But they were able to coax a headlining set out of Bieber, who is merely hosting some other Jingle Balls.

Other acts on this year's bill: singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran; indie rock group Walk the Moon; and DJ Zedd and singer Matthew Koma.

Also new this year: On the day of the Jingle Ball, several acts will perform a free, public show outside the Times Forum: Teenage singer Austin Mahone, Disney Channel singer-actor Bridgit Mendler and pop-rock outfit the Ready Set. For more info on the concert, see 933flz.com.
