There aren't many certainties in life, but you can pretty much assume that a 10-hour rock bacchanal featuring Kid Rock WILL turn into a sweaty, angry, keggy melee at some point. Throw in such fellow demolition experts as Filter, Five Finger Death Punch and 3 Doors Down, and 98 Rockfest 2008 should be an epic scrum. Even the smartest act of the day — System of a Down's gone-solo Serj Tankian, a Mephistophelian madman — likes to incite an anti-establishment riot. Will you have fun? Absolutely, but only if you (1) hydrate, (2) get plenty of sleep the night before, (3) wear sunscreen and (4) prepare for the apocalypse. By the way, this is also Mother's Day, so if you don't get pummeled at the show, there's a good chance Mama will get you back at home. Have fun!

98 Rockfest 2008, featuring 3 Doors Down, Kid Rock (pictured here), Serj Tankian, Shinedown, Filter, Theory of a Deadman, Ashes Divide, Five Finger Death Punch, Saving Abel and Skratch 'N Sniff, gets loud from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday on the grounds at Raymond James Stadium, 4201 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa. $45 advance, $60 day of show.
