Could this be the most musically rich Republican National Convention ever? Maybe so, boys and politicos. Kid Rock and Wyclef Jean will be here. So will Lynyrd Skynyrd and Journey. And now pop hero Gavin DeGraw, fresh off of fat hit Not Over You, has signed on to perform during the GOP's big week. On Aug. 28, the 35-year-old, who also hoofed it up on the past season of Dancing With the Stars, will headline the Presidential Convention Charity Benefit as part of the Musicians on Call organization. The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers and the Recording Industry Association of America will co-produce the event.
The invitation-only gig, which will also feature DJ StoneRokk, will go down at the Dallas Bull, Tampa's country Valhalla. Musicians on Call provides music for wounded soldiers at VA hospitals around the country. Go to www.musiciansoncall.org for more information (or to beg for tickets).
