The annual festival among the strawberry fields of Plant City wraps up its juicy music lineup this weekend with Jessica Simpson, above, on Sunday. With all the buzz about her increasingly voluptuous curves, it'll be hard for the pop-star-turned-Nashville-nymph to sneak another dollop of whipped cream on her shortcake. That, along with a new fan base that is just now realizing she's a country singer, may fill the seats at 7:30 p.m. Some bleacher seats are available free (with gate admission) but reserved seats are $25 and $30.
Here's the rest of the music lineup:
Mel Tillis, 3:30 p.m., $10, $15
Lorrie Morgan, 7:30 p.m., $10, $15
Ronnie McDowell, 3:30 p.m., $10, $15
Jeff Foxworthy, 7:30 p.m., $35
Mark Lowry, 3:30 p.m., $10, $15
Kool & the Gang, 7:30 p.m., $15, $20
Trent Tomlinson, 3 p.m., free with gate admission
If you go: The fest ends Sunday. Gate admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12, and free for kids 5 and younger. Advance discount tickets are on sale for $2 off adult gate admission, $1 off children, at participating Sweetbay Supermarkets. Gates open at 10 a.m. daily. The festival closes at 10 p.m. and the midway closes at midnight. See the Web site for a complete schedule and details. 2202 W Reynolds St., Plant City. (813) 752-9194; www.flstrawberryfestival.com.
