Chicago pop-punks The Academy Is... are known for fast guitars and catchy hooks. But what do their tourmates think about them? To find out, tbt* asked Bradenton heroes We the Kings, who spent time with The Academy Is... on this summer's Warped Tour and who are co-headlining Sunday's gig at Jannus Landing, to give us their take on the band. — Jay Cridlin

Hunter Thomsen, guitarist: Awesome dudes, and they sound amazing live.

Danny Duncan, drummer: They're really incredible people, and we're really excited to be on the road with them. Definitely huge Cubs fans — we've been able to flaunt the Rays' success to them.

It would be amazing if the Rays and Cubs meet in the World Series.

Duncan: We may have to cancel that (tour) date ...

Travis Clark, singer: ... so we can all go to (the World Series). We'd have our jerseys on all day, and just be so excited. But yeah, their music is incredibly catchy, and they're definitely going to do some big things.

Duncan: They're all very good-looking people.

Drew Thomsen, bassist: "Butcher" (drummer Andy Mrotek) has got a really cool bike that I want.

Duncan: Yeah, the drummer rides a really good bike.

Clark: And they have a new CD (Fast Times at Barrington High). It's awesome. Everybody should get that. When you're picking up the We the Kings CD, of course.
