Ralph and Barbara Tate celebrated their 60th anniversary in September with family at their Port Richey home. The couple married Sept. 14, 1953, in a minister's home in Lexington, Ky. They moved to Florida from Lexington in 1989. Mr. Tate is a veteran of the Korean War who spent 30 years in the National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years. Mrs. Tate was employed by IBM as an analyst and senior administrative specialist. Mr. Tate enjoys helping neighbors with repairs, and Mrs. Tate is an avid quilter who has made many quilts for relatives and for the families of fallen service members in Iraq and Afghanistan. The couple has two sons and three granddaughters.
