Christian music at Chasco Fiesta



Pasco County's largest event, Chasco Fiesta, continues today through April 6 with daily live entertainment, a carnival, food vendors, parades, special food events, a flea market, sports events, a car, truck and bike show, a kayak race and the Native American Festival.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. today; 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday; 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday; 5 to 10 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; 5 to 11 p.m. Thursday and April 4; 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. April 5 and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 6.

Today's entertainment special is "Contemporary Christian Family Music Night" from 6 to 11 p.m. with headliner Natalie Grant and opening acts Shepherd's View, Consumed and Desert Rain.

Grant was named Female Vocalist of the Year in the Gospel Music Association's annual Dove Awards for both 2006 and 2007. She recently released her seventh album, Relentless. Her previous hits have been I Will Not Be Moved and In Better


She created the Home Foundation in 2005 to raise awareness about children around the world forced into the sex trade. She is a frequent speaker for the Women of Faith's "Revolve Tour" for teenage girls. She is married to Dove Award-winner Bernie Herms and the mother of

1-year-old twin girls.

Daily entertainment

4-11 p.m. Saturday: Rock 'n' Roll Tribute Day with headliners Beatlemania, a Beatles tribute group, and the Roadhouse band playing classic rock, blues, country and Motown.

11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday: Talent Search Showcase winners.

6-9 p.m. Sunday: Magical Night of Entertainment with Radio Disney, featuring seven youth acts, including 535, B5, Maizee, Monet, Myxx, Playback and Tre.

6-10 p.m. Monday: Bluegrass music, featuring the Doerfel Family Band and Bits of Grass.

6-10 p.m. Tuesday: Noche Latina with Point 6.

6-10 p.m. Wednesday: Dancing Under the Stars with Jimmy "Q" and the Serenaders 16-piece band, doing big band sounds for a dancing contest, the Tap 'N Dolls, and the Ballroom Bicycle Brigade, a junior ballroom show team.

6-11 p.m. Thursday: Rhythm & Bluesmasters, featuring the Back Alley Blues Band, Damon Fowler, Sean Chambers and Julie Black.

6-11 p.m. April 4: True Oldies Night, with doo-wop singers the Elegants, Reynolds Brothers, and the Cleftones (Heart and Soul, Sentimental Reasons), $5 admission.

6 p.m. April 5: Country Concert, starring former American Idol contestant Josh Gracin and opening acts Jake Owen and Wiley Fox. Tickets are $15 and $25 in advance, $20 and $30 at the gate.
