In 2008, Georgian soprano Lina Tetriani (then known as Lina Tetruashvili) was one of the finds of the Sarasota Opera season as Magda in Puccini's La Rondine. Now she is back as the doomed courtesan of Verdi's La Traviata, one of the defining roles for a diva. Tetriani's Violetta is joined by Edgar Ernesto Ramirez as Alfredo and Marco Nistico as Germont in a staging by Martha Collins that Victor DeRenzi will conduct. There are six performances of the company's fall production from Friday night through Nov. 11. $19-$120. (941) 366-8450, ext. 1; sarasotaopera.org.
