All-day tribute: Thirteen bands and musical groups will present a marathon benefit concert for the late Brian Trapani starting at noon Saturday at the Karl Reef, 6307 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Trapani, 34, was the co-owner of Encore Music Store in Port Richey. There will also be a silent auction of musical instruments and gear from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Performers include the Wait, Look Right Penny, Wiley Fox, Natural Blend and Uncle John's Band from noon to 4 p.m. outside. The event moves indoors at 4 p.m. and will feature Category 5ive, Trunk Band, Chumley's Toy, Encore Tribute Band, Doug Blades & Wiley Fox, Julie Black, Retromatic and Peach Phish. Admission is $3. All proceeds will go to the Brian Trapani Memorial Fund for his widow, Kristin, and baby girl, Sadie.
Everything coming up corny: The Faith Choir will perform during the annual Corn Festival from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church, 12128 State Road 52, Hudson. A dinner of pulled pork and locally grown corn is $7.50 for adults, $5 for kids 6 through 12, free for children 5 and younger. There will be crafts and an apple pie baking contest. Tarpon Springs festivities: Tarpon Springs will celebrate "A Night in the Islands" from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the Sponge Docks (Dodecanese Boulevard between Hope and Athens streets). There will be Greek music and dancing for free and dining at additional cost.
Classic oldies: Ron and the Classics will perform 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at "Music on the Beach" at Sunset Beach, Tarpon Springs. Free, with a free shuttle bus from Tarpon Springs High School. A tribute to Johnny Maestro: Joey Dee and the Starliters and the Crests with Tommy Mara will give a tribute concert to the late Johnny Maestro of Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge at 8 p.m. June 26 at the Palace Grand, 275 Della Court (off U.S. 19 a quarter- mile north of County Line Road), Spring Hill.
