3d Art — no glasses needed

An opening wine-and-cheese reception for the Progress Energy Art Gallery's exhibit "3D Art No Glasses Needed" is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. The show features sculptures and mixed media works by 13 artists. Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays through May 28. Among the work is this untitled piece from Terry Kinderman's "The Blue Series," at right.

All-singing, all-dancing show: Sentimental Journey: A 1940's Musical Revue will be presented matinees and evenings through June 5 at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre, 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson. Laughs and tears: The musical Funny Girl will be at 8 p.m. today, Saturday and May 13 and 14 and 2 p.m. Sunday and May 15 at Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Dance like Shrek: Sell's Broadway Dance Company concludes "One Step Closer to Broadway," a series of master class workshops presented by dancers from Broadway touring companies performing at Tampa Bay professional venues. The series features instructors from Shrek on Saturday. Intermediate sessions are from 9 to 10 a.m.; advanced sessions are from 10 to 11 a.m. Each session is $35 and is open to all dancers. New school's first show: Weeki Wachee High School Musical Theatre department will perform the musical Meet Me in St. Louis at 8 p.m. May 13 and 14 and 2 p.m. May 15 in the school auditorium, 12150 Vespa Way, Weeki Wachee.
