Ringling International Arts Festival combines dance, theater, music

New and cutting-edge dance, theater and music is the stock in trade of the Ringling International Arts Festival, opening Wednesday and running through Oct. 17 in multiple venues at the Ringling Center for the Arts in Sarasota. Highlights include Hurricane, a new play by Nilo Cruz (Anna in the Tropics); the puppet opera of the Forman Brothers from the Czech Republic; hip-hop by Rubberbandance Group (shown here); and Andrew Dawson's Space Panorama. Solo dance with Mikhail Baryshnikov and David Neumann and a concert by violinist Tim Fain are sold out, but tickets are still available for the other nine programs. $20-$40. (941) 360-7399; ringlingartsfestival.org. (For more on the festival, see Sunday's Latitudes section.)
