'The Pursuit of Snappiness' starts Friday at New American Theatre

Michael Raabe calls his new cabaret act The Pursuit of Snappiness, and it includes music ranging from show tunes by Stephen Sondheim and Richard Rodgers to the pop of ABBA and ZZ Top. Raabe, a vocal director and arranger for Busch Gardens, has been working with FreeFall Theatre on musicals lately, including Man of La Mancha and The Frogs. Singing and playing piano, he will be joined by Tito Vallejo on upright bass for three shows at New American Theatre's 60-seat cabaret space at BayWalk in St. Petersburg. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 6:30 p.m. Sunday. $15.
