Originally a movie starring Kevin Bacon, it's about a young man from the city who moves to a small town and persuades the ultra-conservative townspeople to let the kids dance. Gonna get married: The River Ridge High School Alumni Association will present the Standing Ovation Dinner Theatre troupe in The Godfather's Meshuggener Wedding: A Jewish/Italian Interactive Wedding Comedy from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Seven Springs Country Club, 3535 Trophy Blvd., New Port Richey. The $35 tickets include dinner and the audience participation show. Proceeds will go to scholarships and a monument to honor distinguished faculty and alumni. Tribute bands and more: Diva Hope Charities will hold a fundraiser "Concert for Hope" at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Rotary Pavilion, 15325 Alric Pottberg Road, Shady Hills (off State Road 52 adjacent to Safety Town). Performers include Tumbling Dice, a Rolling Stones tribute band; 1984, a Van Halen tribute band; and Destroyer, a KISS tribute band. There will also be a motorcycle show, merchandise and food vendors. Proceeds will underwrite cancer screening for women ages 44 and younger without insurance or money.
