Leroy is a handsome white and black, 2-year-old rat terrier mix. He is enrolled in the Heal to Heal program at the Hernando County Women’s Correctional Facility, where he works with the trustees and trainer John Gore from New Sentry K9 Services to graduate with good citizenship and proficiency in 40 commands. Leroy is sweet and loves to play. He’s been neutered, microchipped, and is current on his vaccinations. Inquiries about adopting Leroy or other dogs and cats can be made at Hernando County Animal Services, 19450 Oliver St., Brooksville. Visiting hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Adoption fees are $50 for adult dogs over 25 pounds, $70 for puppies and small dogs under 25 pounds, $25 for heartworm positive and senior dogs, $20 for adult cats and $40 for kittens.
