Phoenix is a red, male terrier mix and a volunteer favorite. He is participates in "Project Protege," a basic obedience training program, and is doing well. He loves to play and has settled into the routine at the shelter. Phoenix has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested and has a one-year Hernando County animal license. Inquiries about adopting Phoenix or other dogs and cats can be made at Hernando County Animal Services, 19450 Oliver St., Brooksville. Visiting hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Adoption fees are $50 for adult dogs over 25 pounds, $70 for puppies and small dogs under 25 pounds, $25 for heartworm positive and senior dogs, $20 for adult cats and $40 for kittens.
