Elvira is a 7-year-old gray and white domestic short hair female. She was brought to the shelter after her owner died and no other family member could take her. She is very friendly and anxious to find a new family to love. Elvira has been spayed, microchipped, is up to date on her vaccinations, and has a 1-year county animal license. Inquiries about adopting Elvira or other dogs and cats can be made at Hernando County Animal Services, 19450 Oliver St., Brooksville. Visiting hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Adoption fees are $50 for adult dogs over 25 pounds, $70 for puppies and small dogs under 25 pounds, $25 for heartworm positive and senior dogs, $20 for adult cats and $40 for kittens.
