Hernando Pet of the Week

Ellie is a 2-year-old tabby who is very playful and comical. She plays well with other cats and volunteers at the SPCA shelter feel she has been there longer than she deserves. Ellie would do great at a home to call her own. Inquiries about adopting Ellie and other cats and dogs may be made at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Hernando County, 9075 Grant St., west of Brooksville. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily (closed on holidays). Adoption fees vary, and include rabies shot, heartworm testing, worming and spaying/neutering. Fees for cats also include testing for feline leukemia and AIDS. For information, call (352) 596-7000. Visit the website at spcaofhernando.com or find SPCA of Hernando on Facebook.
