Hope you listened carefully this past Saturday night to the opening intro on Saturday Night Live. You might have heard announcer Don Pardo's dulcet tones live for the final time calling out the cast members and musical guest. The 91-year-old legend announced during a hall of fame ceremony that he is calling it quits from the show he's been with since its inception in 1975. Although he officially retired in 2004, Pardo, who now lives in Arizona, had been flying back to New York 20 times a year when SNL staged original shows. He began his broadcasting career in 1938 in Rhode island, then joined NBC in 1944, where he worked for the next 60 years. He also served as the voice for the original Price is Right and for the original Jeopardy! game shows.
