Monster Truck Jam headquarters roars to life in Ellenton

If the fact that the world headquarters for the Monster Truck Jam had moved to Ellenton escaped you, fear not.

The media got an invite to view the new mammoth Feld Entertainment world headquarters Wednesday morning for a behind-the-scenes look at the trucks and equipment used in Monster Jam shows all over the world.

Feld Motor Sports builds, repairs and routes the 10,000-pound machines from this garage. Also housed inside the sprawling structure are the Nuclear Cowboyz motorcycle shows.

Feld, which also produces the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus as well as Disney on Ice, bought Live Nation's Motorsports business for $175 million in 2008.

The company has been in the process of consolidating all of its entertainment ventures into the new 47-acre campus in Ellenton, including the circus headquarters, which had been wintering at the State Fairgrounds in Tampa. The Monster Truck Jam had been based in Aurora, Ill., before the move.

Check back later to see video of work being done to many of the trucks that will be featured in the Jan. 18 and Feb. 1 Monster Jam shows at Raymond James Stadium.
