Naughty but notable books on weed and more

Books of bad behavior

Two anthologies and a book of literary criticism write outside the lines of propriety.

The Marijuana Chronicles (Akashic Books), edited by Jonathan Santlofer, gathers new fiction, poetry, nonfiction and graphics about weed by such writers as Lee Child, Joyce Carol Oates and Rachel Shteir.

New Ways to Kill Your Mother: Writers and Their Families (Scribner) by Colm Toibin is the acclaimed novelist and critic's take on the tortured familial relationships of writers like W.B. Yeats, Tennessee Williams, John Cheever and James Baldwin, and how that affected their writing.

Sons of Thunder: Writing From the Fast Lane: A Motorcycle Anthology (Thomas Dunne Books), edited by Neil Bradford, collects stories of hitting the road on two wheels by T.E. Lawrence, Hunter S. Thompson, Robert Pirsig, Thomas McGuane and more.
