USF students speak: What are Tampa's top college hotspots?

We asked students on the University of South Florida's Tampa campus, "Where's a place every college student should know?" — Text by Dalia Colón and photos by Luis Santana

"9Breeders puppy store on Fowler, because you can go and play with puppies. And you can't have puppies in your dorm room, so obviously you need somewhere to go and play with puppies."

— Chelsea Witt, 19, sophomore pre-med/art studio major

"The movies. There's that big one … Muvico on Bruce B. Downs. It's just big."

— Madison Patten, 18, sophomore business major

"One of the happening spots would probably be Peabody's. They have pool tables, drinks, TVs. It's a nice place to hang out. Most of the college students here hang out there. It's a very laid back, easy place to hang out."

— Ifeanyi Ayetin, 24, senior health care administration major

"I'm still getting used to the area around here. Somebody told me about a hookah bar, but I can't remember the exact name of it."

— Charlie Gibson, 18, freshman mechanical engineering major

"Campus Lodge is always good for parties."

— Jackie Whitten, 19, sophomore psychology major
