A review copy of Under the Dome, the new Stephen King novel, arrived at the office here this week, and Times book critic Colette Bancroft is breathless! "Not just because I'm looking forward to reading it, but because I can hardly lift it — it clocks in at a formidable 1,074 pages," she says in the Critics Circle blog. Under the Dome goes on sale Nov. 10 with a first printing of 1.5 million copies. Thanks to the current book price wars among Amazon, Wal-Mart, Target and probably your local gas station, you'll be able to buy Dome in hardcover many places for under $9, which probably barely covers the cost of the paper. And don't forget: King will make a rare personal appearance at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota; tickets are $10 to $20.
