Academy Awards buffs planning to see each best picture nominee before Oscar night have it tougher, with the list of finalists now doubled. AMC Veterans 24 in Tampa again offers its Best Picture Showcase, a marathon of all 10 nominees over two Saturdays, Feb. 27 and March 6, a day before Oscar winners are revealed at Hollywood's Kodak Theater. Tickets are $30 for one session, or $50 for both, including free popcorn refills. Single-show tickets are regular price, available only at the box office that day. The Feb. 27 lineup begins with Avatar (in 3-D) at 10:30 a.m., followed in order by Up, A Serious Man and Precious, and concluding with District 9 at 8:45 p.m. March 6 starts with An Education at 10:30 a.m., followed by The Hurt Locker, Up in the Air and The Blind Side, with the Inglourious Basterds finale at 8:30 p.m. Visit amcentertainment.com for information and tickets, and know you won't be alone: Last year, Veterans 24 sold nearly 180 passes for the event, with only five movies on the list. The theater is at 9302 Anderson Road.
