America II Extreme Mud Wars: This wildly popular day of rolling in a mud pit returns to St. Petersburg's Spa Beach on Saturday, with more than 900 people competing in ultimate football, an obstacle course, joust pit, belly bumper pit, mud tug-of-war, the eliminator, dodge ball and mud ball frenzy. It's free for spectators, but if you want to play in the mud, individual tickets are $60. tampabay

Garden Bros Circus: In celebration of its 100th anniversary, this family-owned circus brings elephants (which they say is their last tour with their big top), the Motorcycle Madness Globe of Doom, Chinese acrobats, racing camels, clowns and aerialists to the USF Sun Dome in Tampa Friday-Saturday. ($10.75-$35.75).

Music: Get your '90s fix on Wednesday when the Summerland Tour featuring Sugar Ray, Everclear, Lit and Sponge hits Madeira Beach at the ROC Park on Wednesday ($24.95-$49.95). Missing the early '00s? Check out Nick Lachey's trio 98 Degrees as they team up with O-Town, Dream and Ryan Cabrera for the aptly named MY2K Tour, Friday at Tampa's MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre ($29-$79). If it's the '80s you're pining for, you may enjoy seeing former Poison frontman Bret Michaels after the Tampa Bay Rays play the Orioles at Tropicana Field on Saturday, free with a game ticket. Or go back to the future with country star Dierks Bentley on Saturday ($27-$51.75), or with G-Eazy and Logic on Sunday ($18-$62.50), both at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre.

Comedy: Jon Lovitz only began doing standup in 2003, but now prefers it to acting. Catch his act this weekend in Tampa at the Improv ($30).

The Wizard of Oz: The Broadway production with new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber comes to Tampa's Straz Center on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday-Sunday ($32.50-$75.50).

Cool Art Show 28: Enjoy the fine art and craft show in the air-conditioned comfort of the historic St. Petersburg Coliseum ballroom Saturday-Sunday.
