Top things to do in Tampa Bay for the week of Oct. 24-30.

MegaCon: The multi-genre geek gathering Friday-Sunday at the Tampa Convention Center will bring Star Trek: The Next Generation stars LeVar Burton and Brent Spiner, Happy Days' Henry Winkler and Doctor Who's David Tennant (above). There's also loads of shopping, professional comics and a horror film festival. ($25-$45).

Halloween: Got your costume? This is the week for big Halloween parties, including the new March of the Pumpkin King parade in Ybor City on Saturday with grand marshal Dr. Paul Bearer II. Find more parties, costume ideas and pumpkin patches at

Music: On Tuesday a reinvented Kesha (above) and her band The Creepies play the Ritz Ybor ($25), where U.K. alt-rockers Foals perform Wednesday ($27.50, $55 VIP). Also on Wednesday is Canadian YouTube sensation Alessia Cara (Here) at Clearwater's Ruth Eckerd Hall ($38.75-$48.75). Thursday, Sully Erna of Godsmack brings his solo act to Clearwater's Capitol Theatre ($43-$53), while rapper Machine Gun Kelly hits St. Petersburg's Jannus Live. American Pie singer-songwriter Don McLean plays the Capitol Theatre ($42-$82) on Friday. Grammy Award-winner Mary Chapin Carpenter performs at the Capitol on Saturday ($49-$69). Sunday, former Chicago frontman Peter Cetera plays St. Petersburg's Mahaffey Theater ($34.50-$89.50), while DJ Steve Aoki spins at the Beach Bar's Halloween party in Tampa ($20-$40).

Comedy: Canada's beloved Trailer Park Boys bring their show to Tampa Theatre on Thursday ($34.50-$59.50). Mind of Mencia's Carlos Mencia plays Tampa's Improv Thursday-Sunday ($40, $50 VIP).

John Quinones: The veteran newsman who hosts What Would You Do? will give a free talk at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the University of South Florida's Marshall Student Center in Tampa.

Kids and family

Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions: See the Olympic Final Five — Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian and Aly Raisman — and other gymnastic stars at Tampa's Amalie Arena on Sunday ($29-$299).

John's Pass Seafood Festival: With more than 100 seafood options, the annual festival, held Thursday-Sunday, also features a Halloween block party and costume contest, a fishing tournament, music and crafts show. Free admission at 150 John's Pass Boardwalk, Madeira Beach. johnspass
