A zip line at Gatorland. What could possibly go wrong? Absolutely nothing, say park organizers, who are calling the Orlando park's upcoming Screamin' Gator Zip Line "the most exciting addition to the park in our 62-year history." More than 18 months in the works, the 1,200-foot zip lines allow intrepid riders to zoom through the scenery of the park's Swamp Walk in an eco-friendly way. The lines pass over gator and crocodile habitats, so this is definitely not the day to break out those chicken underpants. The zip line is scheduled to open in early June, though there isn't an exact date yet.
If you go: The 90-minute experience is $69.99, which includes park admission; reservations are required. Day tickets are $22.99 for adults, $14.99 for ages 3-12. Gatorland, 14501 S Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando; gatorland.com; toll-free 1-800-393-5297.
