Side Trip

You've seen the movie, now take the sexy city tour

New York's four Affinia hotels hope to attract fans of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda to its "Sex and the City Girlfriend Getaway." The one-night packages cover accommodations and a tour to locations used in filming the upcoming Sex and the City movie, which opened Friday.

Also included are a bottle of Champagne, a Magnolia Bakery certificate for Miranda's favorite cupcakes and a Sex and the City shoe bag for those stilettos we all can't do without. Good through Sept. 2, the two-person package is priced at $389 for studio accommodations and $509 for a one-bedroom suite. Extra

girlfriends are $79 each. For information, call toll-free 1-866-246-2203 or go to www.

Several cities have launched summer promotions that include discounts on hotels, sightseeing, sports, restaurants and more. Greater Fort Lauderdale (www.sunny.org/summer); the Paradise Coast, which includes Naples, Marco Island and the Everglades (www.paradisecoast.com/vip); Panama City Beach (www.pcbwhitesale.com); and the Florida Keys (www.fla-keys.com, see special offers) are offering deals through at least Aug. 31. Check sites for details.

Plan for historic holiday

It's only June, but already the folks from the St. Augustine Historic Inns are making plans for the Dec. 13-14 holiday tour.

The weekend event has long been a highlight of St. Augustine's "Nights of Lights" celebration. Thirteen inns will open their doors Dec. 13, and 12 inns will welcome guests Dec. 14. Along with the decorations, guests will enjoy treats provided by St. Augustine restaurants. See www.staugustineinns.com.

Yosemite, off the beaten track

This Aug. 10-15, Knapsack Tours makes its 27th annual foray into Yosemite National Park

to hike the trails of its less-traveled back-

country.

"Knapsackers" take daily hikes that vary in length and difficulty. There are evening naturalist programs. The fee of $995 for "Yosemite on a Shoestring" covers accommodations in rustic dormitories. Those who prefer tent accommodations may bring their own gear. Transportation to Yosemite is additional.

Space also remains available on Knapsack Tours' exploration of Washington's Olympic Peninsula. For more information, call

(925) 944-9435 or go to www.knapsacktours.com.
