Cruise lines keep wary eye on Tropical Storm Erika, adjust itineraries

As Tropical Storm Erika continues to be a threat in the Caribbean Sea, Florida-based cruise lines are alerting passengers about possible changes to itineraries. Here is the latest as of Friday evening.

DISNEY CRUISE LINE

Disney Cruise Line said it is monitoring weather conditions. As of 6:30 p.m. Friday, no changes had been made to itineraries. For updates, go to http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/whats-new/special-message/

ROYAL CARIBBEAN

Royal Caribbean International made several changes. Here is what it said.

Freedom of the Seas: Guests sailing on Freedom of the Seas are asked to arrive to the ship between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The ship will now depart at 3:30 p.m.

Independence of the Seas: Due to the current path of the storm, Independence of the Seas will now depart Port Everglades at 3p.m. Check in and boarding will take place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

CARNIVAL CRUISES

Carnival made a change to the Carnival Ecstasy itinerary for her sailing departing from PortMiami on Friday,. Given the projected path of the storm, on Saturday, the Carnival Ecstasy will now call to Nassau from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and have a day at sea on Sunday. NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE

Norwegian Cruise Line will be adjusting itineraries for Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Sky. Norwegian Getaway's itinerary for her sailing departing on Saturday will now call in Cozumel, Mexico on Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Ocho Rios, Jamaica, on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Nassau, Bahamas on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Norwegian Gem's itinerary for her sailing departing on Saturday will call on the Royal Naval Dockyard, Bermuda, arriving on Monday at 8 am and remaining until Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Norwegian Sky's itinerary for her sailing departing on August 28 will now call in Nassau, Bahamas on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Key West, Florida on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
