On the Camino de Santiago, Day 6: A day that started before the sun rose and ended before it set

Day 6: Puente la Reina to Estella: 20.9 km - 6.75 hrs. (Total for Days 1-6 = 113 km)

I have witnessed the sun's light creeping into the morning sky and slowly fading away into night in Barcelona, Bayonne, Orrison, Roncesvalles and Zubiri. This morning, I watched from the trail as the city of Puente la Reina began to glow as the light reached the rooftops and steeples. It was difficult to pull myself away from the view, but I reminded myself that there would be another one just as beautiful - in its own way - tomorrow.

The sun sets around 10:00 p.m. here, and, for a change, I ended my day before it disappeared over the horizon, knowing that my body would thank me in the morning for honoring its need for a full night's sleep - something it hasn't had in quite some time.

Below are a few landscape scenes from my day on the Camino.
