Times pop music critic Sean Daly wasn't all that stoked about heading down to Miami to cover the entertainment at Super Bowl XLIV on Feb. 7. "I like the Who just fine," the spoiled brat whined, "but I've already interviewed halftime boys Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey." Boo hoo, right? But then came Thursday's big news: Country star Carrie Underwood, top, will be singing the national anthem at this year's event. A few seconds later, we're pretty sure we heard Sean's car tires squealing southward. Better beef up security, Carrie! It was also revealed that Queen Latifah, below, will be performing America the Beautiful. Last year, at Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, a mourning Jennifer Hudson performed the anthem, while Faith Hill wailed America the Beautiful.
