I admire people who have successful and fulfilling careers and still make the time for meaningful work that doesn't necessarily pay the bills. Dr. Adam Miguel Estevez is a good example. He loves both psychiatry and painting and, though he chose the former as his profession, he takes the latter very seriously, too. Estevez returns to the Studio@620, 620 First Ave. S, St. Petersburg, for his second exhibition of paintings. When I saw his work there in December 2009, I was impressed with his talent and his formal training. The new group is gathered under the title "Puer Aeternus," translated from Latin as "eternal boy," and it's also the name of one of the works, shown above. The show continues through Dec. 29. The Studio@620 is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Free. firstname.lastname@example.org or (727) 895-6620.
