Len Prince has made a name for himself both as a fashion and fine art photographer. His wide range includes commissioned celebrity portraits, high-end editorial work in glossy magazines and narrative series in which he explores an aesthetic idea in multiple interpretations. His most famous example of the last is one he created in collaboration with Jesse Mann, herself a photographer and writer who as a child was the subject of a beautiful, controversial series of nude photographs taken by her mother, Sally Mann. In his Jesse Mann series, Prince reimagines iconic images from art and cultural history through a contemporary lens. Shown is Mann in Plate 49 (Pygmalion).

A selection of Prince's work from the collection of Tampa lawyer William Zewadski opens Friday at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, 200 N Tampa St., Tampa. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday with a suggested donation of $4. Meet the photographer on Saturday when he gives a gallery talk and tour at 10 a.m.

On June 25, Zewadski will give a gallery talk about his collection (and this is one of many distinguished ones he has amassed) in conjunction with a dinner at the Tampa Club on the top floor of the Tampa Street building. Tickets for the dinner and tour are $71; call (813) 229-6028 for reservations. For museum information: (813) 221-2222 or fmopa.org.
