Graphicstudio opens its vaults once a year for a fundraising sale from its impressive inventory. If you aren't familiar with it, Graphicstudio has collaborated with artists for 40 years to produce very limited edition prints and sculptures. The artists on their roster include Robert Rauschenberg (whose Study for Chinese Summerhall: Pink Flower Sheet, 1983 color photograph in an edition of 30, is shown), James Rosenquist, Kiki Smith, Alex Katz, William Wegman, Robert Mapplethorpe, Chuck Close . . . the list of luminaries could go on.

It operates quietly as part of the University of South Florida, funded by subscriptions from patrons who line up for each year's series of new editions. Graphicstudio always creates a few extras for the permanent collections of museums and its archives from which the works for sale come.

The facility is at 3702 Spectrum Blvd. on the USF campus in Tampa. The sale will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with a free reception beginning at 6 p.m. A drawing for Katz's Japanese woodblock, Coleman Pond II, is at 8 p.m. (813) 974-3503; graphicstudio.usf.edu.
