Did William Wegman start the trend toward cute pet photos about three decades ago when he first trained his camera on his dog? In any case, he has inspired legions of devotees and admirers with his chronicle of Man Ray, Fay Ray and various younger Weimaraner relatives who have been his subjects.

Twenty-nine of them, on loan from the Polaroid Collection, will be at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, 600 Klosterman Road, on the Tarpon Springs campus of St. Petersburg College beginning Saturday. Shown is Parallelogram.

The opening reception ($10) is from 7 to 9 p.m. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served, and the cost will be applied to new museum memberships if you join that evening. Special guests will be Weimaraners from Florida Weimaraner Rescue. Also opening is "Sanctuary: Anna Tomczak Photography." (727) 712-5210; spcollege.edu/central/museum.
