Bask brings artistic message to Pale Horse Graphic Design and Art Gallery

Good Day! That's Bask's message in an exhibition of new work at Pale Horse Graphic Design and Art Gallery, 19 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. S, St. Petersburg, through Dec. 20. It's the English translation for "Dobre Den," the name of the exhibition by the artist, who was born in Czechoslovakia. He uses scavenged materials as a basis for his message art, collaging images and adding his own. Shown are Chicken Hawk and Obama. The latter is an especially interesting example of recent currents in political art (and Bask's mixed media works are often witty and ironic riffs on current political or social currents). What we typically see is cynicism. Here, hope. It's one more example of change. Contact Pale Horse at (727) 823-6202 or palehorsedesign.com.
