Carolina Cleere's 'Icons of Innocence' art exhibit comes to HCC gallery

Carolina Cleere is an award-winning photographer who also creates mixed media photo collages such as this one. They seem straightforward but brim with a strange psychological narrative, a kinship to Frida Kahlo's surrealist work if she had been a photographer. Cleere's "Icons of Innocence" opens today at Hillsborough Community College Ybor campus Art Gallery on Palm Avenue and 14th Street. The free reception is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The show continues through June 11. Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. hccfl.edu/yc/art-gallery.aspx.
