Leave it to the super creative galleries in the 600 block of St. Petersburg to put their own twist on Halloween. With at least these three events at 7 p.m. Saturday, the whole block will be a party:
The Glow Show
Everything in the Bluelucy Gallery will be awash in black light, so if you go, be sure you'll glow, too. Is it cheating to amp up your costume a bit with glow jewelry, eyeglasses, fingernails and such from novelty stores? Heck no! The exhibit features the works of Phillip Clark and Chad Mize at 653 Central Ave. Free. (727) 455-4647. bluelucy.net
Point & Shoot Yourself Art Show
Think cheesy standups you can put your head in at tourist attractions (See Rock City!), except these are way better. Tampa Bay artists Aziritt, Casey Paquet, Chase Donald, Allen Leper Hampton and Pale Horse Design will create monster-inspired photo stands that you can take your picture with, so don't forget your camera. Also featured will be photographer Hampton's photos of his travels through the south and self-portraits from artists Emily Dwyer and Chris Parks. All at Pale Horse Design, 611 Central Ave. Free. palehorsedesign.com
Explore the pipe as art and check out its controversial history during this Halloween exhibit. There will be a live glass-blowing exhibition during the show and free food and drinks. All at Collective Gallery, 601 Central Ave. (727) 851-6767.
