The lyrics "Have yourself a merry little Christmas" will likely take on new meaning for most of us this holiday season, emphasis on the little. Clayton Galleries tackles the challenge with "Small Works," a holiday group show of new works measuring 24 inches or less in mediums including painting, photography and sculpture. The art may be little, but the talent is not.

The gallery invited 27 artists to participate: David Adix, Donne Bitner, Douglas Boutilier, Peter Brown, Jeanne Cameron, Robin Cody, Dolores Coe (whose Out of Season in mixed media and oil is shown), Lynn Davison, Virginia Derryberry, Benjamin Dimmitt, Cassandra James, Susan Klein, Carl Knickerbocker, Jeffrey Kronsnoble, Peter Kuentzel, Bruce Marsh, Kate Norris, George Pappas, John Reimer, Stacy Rosende, Claudia Ryan, Craig Rubadoux, Roberta Schofield, Kerri Silvernell, Suza Talbot, Joyce Ely-Walker and Kathy Wright.

The show opens Friday at the galleries, 4105 S MacDill Ave., Tampa, with a free reception from 7 to 9 p.m. and continues through Jan. 13. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. (813) 831-3753; .
