Miniature art gets maximum exposure at Dunedin Fine Art Center

Small is big at the Dunedin Fine Art Center, 1143 Michigan Blvd., Dunedin. Beginning Sunday, the Miniature Art Society of Florida will offer its annual exhibition of about 850 paintings by national and international artists, most for sale. Also on view will be the organization's permanent collection of 100 miniatures. If you're thinking doll-house precious, think again. Most of the art is by professionals whose styles range from traditional to abstract. Shown above is this year's Best of Show, Red Pears and Basket, by Jane Mihalik of Maryland. The exhibition continues through Feb. 8. Beginning Monday, artists will be on hand to demonstrate their techniques. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $6 adults, $5 seniors, $4 children 6 to 18. (727) 298-3322; dfac.org.
