Samuel Bak's works to be discussed; opening reception for Maria Saraceno exhibit set

Samuel Bak's paintings have a comforting solidity at odds with his harrowing Holocaust subject matter. Biblical scholars Danna Nolan Fewell of Drew University and Gary A. Phillips of Wabash College will be at the Florida Holocaust Museum, 55 Fifth St. S, St. Petersburg, today to discuss Bak's works focusing on a young boy. "Icons of Loss: The Haunting Child of Samuel Bak" is at 6:30 p.m. and is included with the $14 museum admission. flholocaustmuseum.org.
