The new Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg opens Jan. 11, but if you want to be among the first to tour the glamorous building and freshly installed collection, you should order your tickets soon.
No tickets for walk-up visitors will be sold on opening day, so advance online purchases are a must. But with large crowds expected, you might be turned away during the first few weeks without a reserved ticket.
Also during the first few months, you will be asked to select a specific time for your visit to avoid overcrowding. Nichole Nathan, group tours manager for the museum, says spaces for those are filling up fast, too.
The new museum is located at One Dali Blvd., on Bayshore Drive and Fifth Avenue S, adjacent to the Mahaffey Theater. The last day the museum will be open at its current location, 1000 Third St. S, is Jan. 2.
Regular admission is $21 for adults, $19 for seniors, military, police and firefighters, $15 for students 18 or older with identification and those ages 13 to 17, $7 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children 5 or younger.
Advance tickets can be purchased online at thedali.org. For group rates or to book a group tour, contact Nichole Nathan at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (727) 823-3767, ext. 3014.
