Village of the Arts is a lovely little microcosm in southern Bradenton just off the Tamiami Trail, with blocks of old buildings, mostly bungalows, that have been restored and transformed into 30 art galleries plus restaurants and shops. It's perfect for an artful day trip. Village of the Arts members also have a strong sense of community. Right now they're partnering with Manatee Glens Hospital and Addiction Center for "Art in Recovery," a show featuring Manatee Glens clients including Keith Adams, whose lovely cityscape is shown here. See the exhibition at Still Life in G Gallery, 1014 12th St. W, Bradenton, through Oct. 31. villageofthearts.com.
