Yes, you can just drop by the Dali

The Dali Museum folks want you to know that walk-up tickets for admission to its new museum are available. Reports in some news outlets said the public could visit only with a timed ticket purchased online. Not the case, says Cindy Cockburn, a spokeswoman for the museum. "We are definitely accepting walk-ups," she said Thursday. The $36 million museum opened Tuesday at 1 Dali Blvd. at Fifth Avenue SE and Bayshore Drive, eight blocks north of the old building and next to the Mahaffey Theater. Capacity crowds created long lines for those without a guaranteed entry time to the building, which features a comprehensive collection of works by the great Spanish artist. Cockburn said the museum has been "jam-packed" ever since, so to avoid a possible wait, visitors are encouraged to buy tickets ahead of time. Go to Lennie Bennett, Times art critic
