Former First Lady Barbara Bush is in poor health and has declined additional medical treatment, opting to "focus on comfort care" surrounded by family, which includes son Jeb Bush.

"Following a recent series of hospitalizations, and after consulting her family and doctors, Mrs. Bush, now age 92, has decided not to seek additional medical treatment and will instead focus on comfort care," read a statement released Sunday.

The Florida political world offered support for the Bush family, with elected officials from all over the ideological spectrum tweeting kind words.
