America's next Supreme Court Justice could come from Sunshine State.

With Justice Anthony Kennedy announcing his retirement in a Wednesday letter, President Trump will get to nominate a second Supreme Court justice in his presidential term. He nominated conservative judge Neil Gorsuch in 2017.

Two names on President Trump's most recently released SCOTUS short list are Charles Canady, a Florida Supreme Court justice, and Federico Moreno, a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. President Trump said his nominee will come from that list.

Although he leaned conservative in his rulings, Kennedy was thought to be the Court's swing vote. Whoever replaces him will have a massive sway in the direction of the nation's highest court, possibly for decades to come.
