Pajama Party: Haven

Feeling fatigued by the constant stream of negativity and turmoil in the world? Maybe you need to check out the Disco Dolls Studio’s event, Haven. The launch party for the studio’s new line of bamboo loungewear promises to be an evening of comfort. The line was inspired by hygge (hooge), a Danish concept of living in complete coziness and contentment, surrounding oneself with good friends, objects and nourishment that give you a warm feeling inside. You can also give yourself a hug for wearing a sustainable material. The party will do hygge Florida style, with a tropical vibe, games, a group puzzle, food and drink. 6-10 p.m. Friday. 4632 N Florida Ave., Tampa. Free. (813) 641-4367. discodolls.com.

Plant Sale: Cacti and Things

Cacti and succulents have been a big deal out west, but in the past few years their popularity in Florida has exploded. They grow well here and are super simple to maintain. Begin or add to a collection at Kessler’s Cacti and Things plant sale, with hundreds of varieties of cactus and succulents, plus desert roses, orchids, fruit trees, herbs and vegetables. Specimen collector plants will be available as well as Kessler’s special blend of cactus and succulent soil. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Bearss Groves, 14316 Lake Magdalene Blvd., Tampa. (813) 751-9409.

Function and Fancy: Button Swap and Shop

It’s sort of sad to see the artistic decline of buttons. For centuries, they were wonderfully ornate, but today, most are just utilitarian. Can we bring beautiful buttons back? A good start would be at the Bay Area Button Club’s Button Swap and Shop. Discover exquisite antique, vintage and collectible buttons, and learn their histories from collectors. Become inspired by their various uses, whether on clothes, in jewelry or in art pieces. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Park Station, Pinellas Park Chamber of Commerce, 5851 Park Blvd. Free. (727) 742-5584.
