The Class A, District 11 track meet came down to the favorites as Admiral Farragut’s boys and Keswick Christian’s girls each defended their team titles at Sarasota Out-of-Door on Thursday.

The Blue Jackets won their 12th straight district title, scoring 271 points to beat out the Crusaders by 175.5.

As expected, Rayshawn Jenkins dominated his individual events. The Admiral Farragut junior, who is the defending state champion in the 110 hurdles, won the event in 14.88 seconds. He also took first in the triple jump (41 feet, 4 inches) and the long jump (21-2). Blake Arnold was the Blue Jackets other multi-event champion, winning the 1,600 (4:47) and 3,200 (10:48).

On the girls side, Keswick Christian outscored Shorecrest 191.6-132.3.

The Crusaders had just two champions: Jessica Kiggins in the triple jump (30-8) and the 4x100 relay team (52.65). But the Crusaders were able to gobble up points by taking two of the top three spots in all but one of the field events. In the  pole vault Keswick had two of the only three participants.

Admiral Farragut’s Destini Oglesby was the county’s only girl athlete to win multiple events, taking first in the discus (114-7) and shot put (34-8).
